This is an alpaca and wool lap throw. They are made from the raw fleece of both the alpaca and sheep. The fiber is cleaned, carded and hand-spun into yarn. The alpaca is a very fine soft fiber that is not very stable; therefore, it is plied with hand-spun wool to give it strength. The Alpaca fiber is thicker than the wool yarn and the percentage is 75% alpaca and 25% wool to keep softness and stability a priority. The resulting throw is extremely soft and will retain its shape through use. Some of the fibers are left in their natural colors, while others are hand-dyed. During the entire process, no harsh chemicals are used to clean the fibers or yarns and the only product used to clean the material is Dawn Dish Soap.
